Groom your thoughts positively
"What is thought of, stands done", goes the saying. Remember, first
there is the rise of desire, which when processed in the mental zone
turn into thoughts. The thoughts when cultivated further in the
laboratory of mind gravitate into action and hence the above
statement. The character and content of the thoughts will determine
whether the fruits of our action taste sweet or sour. Evidently, if
thoughts begin on a mistaken premise, we may spoil our own future.
It, therefore, becomes imperative upon us to watch our thoughts at the
initial stage itself, but for which we may invite serious problems in
life, many a times with long-term consequences. Fortunately for us, we
are armed with Buđhi (the faculty of discriminate intelligence)
which grants us with the capacity to analyse our thoughts
dispassionately. Applying this mind power, one could judge whether the
actions to follow will prove true to his over all interest.
However, our Ahaṁkara (Ego), which again is another aspect of
mind, often stands in way of our Buđhi playing its part. The
sense of ‘I’ consciousness arising thereof, blindly guided by the
inherent desire trends, further playing upon the power of freewill,
makes a person believe that his perception cannot be wrong. He,
therefore, does not feel the necessity of due diligence before his
thoughts translate into action. Naturally, when you act in a flash, it
tends to become more vulnerable to a crash.
A
case in point is that of an ambitious young girl who called me in a
state of desperation, when the guy she had been going strong for about
5 years or so abruptly stopped communicating with her. She sounded
badly hurt and wished to check about the possibility of the guy ever
coming back to her again. As the story unfolded, it got revealed that
the guy in question is quite rich, already married and having
children. He had been showering money on her like anything. In fact,
on the strength of his money power that she had been successfully
conducting her business. She had made ambitious future plans also,
which now is held up midway.
The point is, if she still went after this man knowing fully well that
he was married, it implies that this relationship stood on a
fallacious ground, not true to her interest.
Her astrological chart makes out an interesting reading. The lagna
sub-lord, signifying the basic fabric of her making, happens to be
Venus, which is placed in the constellation owned by Mars, both the
planets having strong materialistic orientation. The two, placed
adverse to each other meant that she would be crazy about having
enough wealth, worth ostentatious display, to the envy of others, and
which also allows her enjoy all comforts of worldly life to her
asking. This combination also implied that she would be crazy about
sex, even more so, because, Venus also happens to be the 5th sub-lord,
identified with love life. Saturn, the 7th lord, identified with
partner is located in the third house identified with her basic desire
trends, which is placed adverse to mischievous Neptune again placed in
the 5th house. All these read together with lagna lord, the Sun,
placed adverse to Uranus and headless Ketu would imply that she may
not mind getting into even an unholy alliance if it serves her
material as well carnal interests together.
It all went well till the progressed Venus in man’s chart became
combust, which strongly indicated emotional break. It had to happen
one day because the girl did not realise that this man first belied
marital trust to seek her. It gets confirmed from the fact that in his
chart, Venus, the planet signifying carnal desire is placed adverse to
both Mars and mischievous Neptune.
I wish this girl realises her folly and
comes out of her self-undoing act.

Nature makes timely corrections
The other day, a group of lawyers were sounding pessimist while
discussing the level of deterioration that our polity has undergone.
True, but they are not aware that nature has its own way of forcing
periodic corrections.
Apparently, it may sound crazy, as nature is no person who may
discriminate and adjudicate over the doings of an individual and pass
judgments. However, nature is so designed that the progressive change
in the energy orchestra it reflects, creates such triggers as would
influence events in this world. So, if someone willfully gets into
unbecoming acts, nature will create conditions which may act as
trigger to force necessary changes. That is how the world has evolved
going through lows and highs since the primitive age.
Remember, every existence in this world is nothing but manifestation
of play and interplay of nature driven energies. In this scheme of
things our gross body, mind, and intellect are all raised on a
particular energy platform identifiable with a person. Therefore, any
change in the dynamics of nature driven energy has to reflect upon us
one way or the other. For, every point in the universe, remains in
intimate and immediate connect with the rest. So, even the energies
that we reflect whatever way, its echoes shall be felt and responded
by the environment if not with add on, at least in equal terms.
The return gift that you get from the nature depends upon the quality
and content of what you offer her. Your good conduct will bring back
pleasant experiences and if you go against the interest of the
collective existence, you may be paid back in equal terms today or
tomorrow.
It therefore came as no surprise when news flashed that someone who
called the shots till the other day is in the docks today. Remember,
society is subject to continued churning. And, whenever there is
churning, scum comes up the first, which when discarded, clear face
emerges. An analogy could be drawn with the churning of curd. Before
you get cream out of it, scum comes up which needs to be thrown away.
There are phases when unworthy ones may be ruling the lot, who later
inadvertently get into such self-undoing act as would put them under
scanner. And so it happened in this particular case also.
Such events can be foreseen also looking at the reflections of map of
heaven drawn for a particular place during the eclipses. In this
context, the lunar eclipse chart that occurred with the dawn of New
Year drawn on the co-ordinates of the concerned state capital deserves
attention. The rising sign was Libra, which means balance and justice.
Lord of the sign Venus is combust and is also locked in adverse
formation with mischievous Neptune as well Jupiter, the planet
identified with justice. Incidentally the shadow planet Rahu known for
its malefic implication, and retrograde Mercury identified with one’s
dealings, are also there in the same house. Venus incidentally
signifies finance. The Sun means an important personality. The
implication is that some financial scam on the part of an important
personality may surface up which may put him through difficult time.
So it has happened as Rahu closed up with the Sun and Venus as in
evidence at the time of eclipse.
The event is not going to pass of so easily. Mars, the
planet identified with authority and police actions, is placed in the
10th house identified with the Government. It is placed adverse to the
planet of limitation and its dire enemy, the Saturn. Saturn
incidentally is the 5th lord, being 8th to the 10th meaning adversity
befalling the one in power. This when read with the 10th sub-lord
Mercury, placed 6th there from, meaning difficulties, would imply that
the event could upset the polity in a big way.

The
karmic consciousness
What
you give to others, you get back in equal terms, the way sea waves
returns back what you throw in its womb. This is how the law of nature
runs. If you hurt others, you may have to go through similar
experiences later, for you to have a first hand feel of what hurt
actually means. Through such learning lessons, one may correct the
self, evolve and secure one’s future. If instead of drawing a lesson,
you hit back or somehow try to find an escape, you compound and
stretch your problems further.
There
is no agency somewhere in the heaven which administers this mechanism.
It is a self-automated system that works through one’s own memory. All
that we do, good or bad, small or big, finds space in our memory in
energy format in software programme like design setup. And, as the
programme would reflect later, which is sometimes carried on to even
the next successive birth, you are to contend with situations in
similar terms as you would have acted earlier.
Allan
Leo, the legendary astrologer of the West, could not find an answer to
the question hounding him for almost 50 years: Why God created both
good and bad together? Why so much of disparity, pains and sufferings
in this world? His riddle got solved during his last visit to India,
when a Pundit explained to him the concept of reincarnation, which
finds mention in his book “Esoteric Astrology”. Perhaps, he then
realised that “GOD”, is that well defined holistic nature driven
system, and not a physical being, which drives this dynamic world.
Naturally, man being a product of that system, his existence is bound
by the laws of nature. And that explains why man cannot escape the
travails of his own doing.
Man,
therefore, needs to watch out his conduct, and remain conscious about
making necessary corrections on a continued basis, if he wishes to
secure a better tomorrow. The fact of life, however, remains that
invariably man’s ego does not allow him to look at his own faults but,
he expects from others to behave. He will rather become judgmental, if
he finds other’s reactions and responses not falling in line with his
self-assumed beliefs, which carries equal probability of being
mistaken or true. He also gets tempted to teach the other side a
lesson at his level. What he forgets in the process is that going by
the laws of nature, his judgmental outlook may lead him into
self-undoing act, evidently to his detriment.
A
case in point is that of a young man’s mother who appears to be
hell-bent to break her son’s marriage. The reason, the daughter-in-law
resents her husband spending all his spare time with his mother and
sisters, and not attending to her emotional urges. In the boy’s chart,
the 4th house identified with the mother is occupied by Mercury, Mars
and Rahu to mean that she is crazy. The 4th sub-lord, Venus, already
afflicted by the Sun, occupies the constellation owned by Mercury,
which in turn is opposed to Jupiter, the lagna and 7th sub-lord,
meaning the young couple. It implies that over possessive mother’s
unbecoming acts has been playing devil with her son’s marital life.
This lady lost her
husband quite young, implying that she was due for it because of some
karmic carry over from the past birth. Instead of getting humbled
after that incident, now she is adding a fresh set of bad Karma by
trying to forcibly break her son’s marriage. What she does not realise
that nature will give her back in equal terms either through a new
forceful daughter-in-law who silences her, or that in the succeeding
life, her mother-in-law makes her suffer. It is still not late, if
sense of reasons dawns upon her.

Admit frailties for life to flourish
“Marriages
are union of two souls and are made in the heaven”, runs the popular
Indian belief. It may be just a tradition-driven conditioning of mind,
but following this, the marriages were by and large stable till recent
times. The couples loved, clashed, and going through intermittent
phases of lows and highs in their marital lives, they would learn to
come to terms with each other, despite all individual limitations and
differences. There was hardly any evidence of the partners ever
thinking of parting company even in the figment of their imagination.
Of late, the concept seems to be loosing its force, which is why
marital breaks are now becoming common. The young married couples are
no longer prepared to bear with any discomfort whatsoever. And, in the
event of any marital discord, instead of trying to make corrections,
they rather prefer to separate. They question: what is the fun in
holding on to a relationship, if it becomes painful? Their argument
sounds reason.
However, what the young couples forget that if one expects from the
partner to behave, he or she should also remain conscious about not
hurting the other side. Happenings in recent times suggest that the
contending partners wish from the other side to appreciate his many
positives over few frailties, but the yardstick just changes when
placed vice-versa.
Another point that the youngsters miss out is that everybody is
necessarily born imperfect which calls for necessary correction to
facilitate the spirit of accommodation, vital to a life with ease and
comfort. The paradox is that we expect from the partner to prove
perfect, but would not care for self-correction.
A
case in point is that of a feuding couple. The positives in both of
them are immense. However, they are stuck to each other’s weakness the
more. Parental over- interference has further worsened the problem.
Saturn, the ruling planet in boy’s chart occupies the 8th house
identified with difficulties to mean that he may himself invite his
problems. Such characters are usually shy of displaying love, and
conduct themselves in a businesslike fashion. That belies the
emotional urges of the married partner and particularly the girl,
which in turn creates a void.
The prime mover, the Sun, is conjunct Rahu and Mars, opposite
mischievous Neptune, and also placed adverse to emotive planet Venus.
Incidentally Venus happens to be the 4th sub-lord identified with
mother which is placed in the constellation owned by Mercury conjunct
aggressive Mars and placed opposite Jupiter, the lagna sub-lord. The
implication is he is too much touchy and sensitive and that his
emotional priorities are likely to be misplaced. The misdemeanours of
his over-possessive mother may create emotional turbulence in his
life. Fact remains that he spends most of his spare time with mother
and does not give due attention to wife, something difficult for her
to bear with. This combination when read together with personality
indicator, the Moon, also implies that he will remain stuck to his
self-delusion and shall not be open to listening or learning.
In the girl’s
chart Mercury is conjunct demonic Rahu and opposite the Uranus to
imply that she is also stuck to her unrealistic dreams. Moon, Saturn
and Mars are all conjunct in the 4th house. Incidentally Mars is the
10th lord implying the mother-in-law. The obvious implication is that
on mother-in-law’s provocation, she may get into fighting mode, loose
all control on self, and may go berserk.
Supposing that they separate and seek fresh partners, with their
attitudes driving them, where is the guarantee that they may earn
happiness? However, if they work upon their weaknesses and try to
evolve, they may prove made for each other and life will turn into a
beautiful experience. For, their charts are samasaptaka - lagna
sign of each being the 7th of the other, implying the partner.

Lord Śiva offers leadership lessons for us every Shravana month
A
fellow disciple of my spiritual Guru is worried these days. For, he,
as law officer, is supposed to enforce “Ethics Management” in his
company. And, he is afraid that the way whistleblowers are being
targeted, he could also become a victim.
In today’s world, when ethics is nowhere in practice in real life, his
fear is not unfounded. However, it is a different matter that since he
does his job dispassionately and enjoys benevolent pleasure, his
adversaries may not be able to unsettle him.
Otherwise, it appears that it has become free-for-all in our country.
Corruption has taken disastrous proportion. Brazen loot of public
money is in the news every day and is being debated with not much of
scope for corrective actions. Our politico-cum-bureaucratic management
is at its worst, not to mention specific.
Food grains are rotting for want of proper warehousing facility. More
than 40% of green vegetables and fruits get spoilt in transit. Food
prices, on the other hand, are skyrocketing making it difficult for a
common man to manage his bare needs. Food adulteration has been taking
a toll on public health. Serious security concerns are threatening
nation’s stability.
The powers-that-be may pat their back sighting economic meters, but we
are heading for dog fight sooner than later, if fundamentals of
existence continues to be compromised.
The law makers, instead of joining hands and resolving serious issues
confronting the nation, are just engaged in blame game, just to gain
media space. The authorities are trying to find an escape and the poor
continue to suffer.
The Parliament, the seat of power has been witness to continued
disorderly conduct. For years together there has been hardly any
meaningful debate. On no count, the lawmakers can be said to be
exhibiting even the basic sense of leadership. What is then the
remedy?
It is high time that our lawmakers are given a lesson in leadership at
periodic interval as has been our ancient tradition. With this end in
view, the ongoing Hindu month of Shravana is dedicated to
Lord Śiva. The purpose was not to drive people into frenzied
belief-driven practices to seek His boon, rather refresh people with a
lesson in leadership, which He symbolizes.
Lord Śiva
is visualized seated on an ox leading his entourage, comprising of
man, godly bodies, animals, and even weird creatures such as ghosts
and gobbles. His entourage put together exemplify multitude of
existences forming this world, seen and unseen. And He, despite
evolutionary barrier of incommunicability and individual limitations,
holds them all together through the force of his selfless love. He is
able to do it because He serves them to their best without
differentiating, and not expecting anything in return for Himself as
being bare bodied with just his lower part wrapped in tiger skin
imply.
Lord Śiva
through the play of His Damru (hand drum), effects harmony and
symphony of all nature driven forces, the convergence of which as
exemplified by lunar crescent over His head, nourishes life on earth.
The perennial river Ganges flowing out of His hair locks also serves
as provider to meet all existential needs. Not only that, He absolves
all creatures of the negatives they excite and absorb them in the form
of venom of the snake he adores. And, He does that purposefully. For,
He is aware about the interdependence of their existential needs, as
it is their efforts in totality that can sustain life. He therefore,
wishes to get the best out of all and ensure smooth run of the world
order, the way Ox, His mount, keeps moving unprovoked at a set speed
till it reaches its destination when pulling a bullock cart.
Will our lawmakers listen or wait till people show them their way?

Educate children with motherly love and care
Children hold the key to nation’s
future. Therefore, they need to be shaped well in time to ensure his
as well as nation’s well being. Accordingly, our ancients designed a
step by step learning process following which every individual
qualified to deal with the varying dynamics of the emerging times with
ease and comfort. In this context, the following hymn may give an
insight into their approach towards education.
“Janmana
jayate shudraha,
Samskarata dwija Ucchayate,
Vedapathi bhaveta vipraha,
Brahmajanati iti Brahmanaha”.
The
above hymn implies that we are all necessarily born unaware and
ignorant with lot of prenatal preconditioning of mind, which may stand
in way of an orderly conduct. Accordingly, the provision was to put
every child through learning lessons in morality and conduct rules and
set free his mind from all preconditioning. The student thus qualified
to pursue learning with an open mind whereby he could appreciate the
truths of life better, which literally amounted to fresh birth, the
second time.
Having thus laid down the foundation, the learner was then led to the
treasures of knowledge (the Vedas), which made them learned. Knowledge
thus gained when further meditated upon and drilled in mind, expanded
learner’s vision, which qualified him to explore beyond the known. He
could thus comprehend the fundamentals of life in totality, which when
ingrained in mind turned into wisdom. He thus qualifies to serve as a
guiding spirit for society at large. Following this very route, the
Gurus of yesteryears used to lead every emerging child step by step
through various stages of learning, to facilitate integrated and
wholesome personality development of the self. They thus bred wisdom.
Evidently, the product of such a holistic exercise graduated to a
level which enabled them to make meaningful use of their power of
freewill in its natural flow, to the best advantage of the self as
well as the larger existence.
How
about today? Do we still subscribe to the above concept? Truth remains
that there has been a paradigm shift in the approach towards
education. We no longer seem to be concerned about working upon the
basics. Instead of holistic development of the child and pursuing
excellence, most of the parents lead their children to straightaway
chase academics. In the process, the basic instincts in child – such
as games, sports, various disciplines of art and culture – often get
compromised. Remember, these extra-curricular activities in fact help
personality integration of the child, vital to qualitative existence
all through life. In their bid to let their child acquire skills as
would make them a money minting machine, the parents often put their
child in stress from the very beginning, which keeps chasing all
through their life. As a result, a new breed of skilful but impatient
and stressed generation is being built, which is least grounded. The
fact of life is that economic meters may be growing facilitating all
material comfort, but simultaneously the familial and societal
disquiet has been also growing no less.
Are we then building
our future right or preparing ground for a chaotic tomorrow? Recently,
a case came up before me where a child has now become defiant and does
not care for his mother’s command. In his chart the personality
indicator Moon is placed opposite its planet of limitation, the
Saturn. It implies that mother’s forcible conduct could implant seeds
of depression, which may thwart his growth. Mars occupying mother’s
lagna sign is placed adverse to Saturn and Mercury which accounts for
her forceful nature. So, instead of applying her motherly force of
love, and imparting education in a playful style, which is the need of
the hour, she has been interfering with child’s spirit of freedom
beyond its due as a hard task master. I wish she understands,
otherwise, he will very soon loose all interest in studies beyond
repair.

Astrologers can be wrong, but not astrology
A
group of self-acclaimed rationalists spares no occasion to loud-mouth
against all oriental disciplines including astrology, calling them
blind beliefs. The fact however remains that following their own
self-conceived beliefs they have themselves been acting irrationally.
Dictionary defines rationalism as a disposition to apply to religious
doctrines the same critical methods as to science and history and to
attribute all phenomena to natural rather miraculous causes. Applying
the same logic, how can you term an oriental discipline a blind belief
without subjecting it to scientific scrutiny?
Once
again while discussing whether Octopus, which regaled us during the
Fifa World cup, could predict for the real, or was the handiwork of an
intelligent marketer, their charge as usual was directed against
Astrology. Their arguments were again based on half-baked premise –
the weekly tarot card and zodiac sign predictions, which actually does
not reflect true essence of astrology. For astrology, every being is
an exclusive case study, because, every individual is cast in a unique
energy mould quite different from all others. Accordingly, each
individual energy frame responds to varying energy flux reflected by
the nature its own exclusive way. It is only those not conversant with
the philosophy underlying astrology, who may dare to bind the whole
human lot to just 12 divisions.
Astrology works at a much deeper level. It is pertinent to note here
that the whole form-world, including the man, emanates from interplay
of energy streams flowing through nature. Life therefore, deserves to
be defined in energy terms. Accordingly, Astrology defines the energy
construct of the nature and the man and establishes correspondence
between the two. It also establishes continuum between two successive
lives again in energy terms, whereby it provides lead about the carry
over from the past life which find reflection by way of one’s inherent
traits. Having thus figured out one’s weaknesses, it becomes possible
to make necessary corrections. Therefore, astrology actually works as
a tool directed towards human resource development.
Astrology again is not about defining human destiny in finite terms.
Remember, Astrology being an extension of the Vedas, need to be read
together with the philosophic understanding about life as laid down
there. And, philosophy acknowledges in no uncertain terms the power of
freewill armed with faculty of discriminate intelligence enjoyed by
man whereby he could add quality and value to life through conscious
efforts. Evidently, only a half knowing person will dare arbitrate
human destiny in finite terms.
What
then is the use of Astrology? Remember, the spirit of freedom inherent
in a man also makes it vulnerable to misuse to the detriment of the
self and the environment. More so, because, human mind, which
primarily drives a man is guided by relative perception. As a
consequence, man has to often debate and deal with, conflicting
thoughts arising within, as also varied perceptions of those around,
leading to conflict of interests. Man has also to deal with varying
emotions of many. Overriding all these, he has to pick up the right
lead, and move ahead in life.
For
the reasons stated above, invariably man has to live with conflicts,
uncertainties, and thereby fear. So, the question is: How to deal
with them and keep marching ahead with ease and comfort? Here comes
astrology to man’s aid. It helps identify man’s mind strengths and
weaknesses so as to facilitate necessary corrections in time. Having
thus tightened the loose ends, the faculties of the mind unfold to
their optimum best. The discriminate intelligence inherent in a man
then helps him remain live to the dynamics of life; perceive the
issues in right perspective; which help dealing with the challenges
ahead with ease and comfort.
To
sum up, astrology is a valued discipline and its honest application
may help provide right lead to our spirit of freedom, to everybody’s
benefit.

Have a strong, peaceful mind to enjoy success
The world is a projection of one’s mind. Mind again, is nothing but a
stockpile of inlaid thoughts. The content and character of these
inlaid thoughts vary from person to person, and which set the premise
from where mind takes off further.
Obviously, if mind sets its course on a strong note, the person will
be able to put in his best, and consequently, the chances for the
fruits of actions proving enjoying and fulfilling become more
probable. On the contrary, if mind begins on a weak note, it will fail
to motivate a person enough to act wholesome with full faith.
Evidently, the chances for failure and frustrations become higher.
It therefore, becomes imperative upon us to ensure that our minds are
oriented well. How to make it happen? First, we need to figure out the
basic construct of our minds, which drive our performing-selves, so
that necessary corrections if any, could be made in time. The reason,
the roots of all our successes and failures rest in our minds.
Remember, the inlaid thoughts in our minds, self-define our individual
specific faith system, which sets the trend of all our desires, habits
and attitude. The desire trends in turn excite fresh streams of
thoughts, which gravitate into action, with related ramifications in
terms of fruits to be enjoyed.
Here, it may not be out of place to mention that one gets tempted to
perceive things within the canvas of one’s desire trends. Evidently,
if the desire trends are ill-framed, we ask for troubles. The obvious
implication is that the fruits of our actions correspond to the
positives and negatives as rooted in our inlaid thoughts.
Now, how to read one’s mind-trends and set the flow of our thought
right, are the obvious but difficult question. Astrology makes things
simple for us. See, how astrology helps figure out the inherent trends
of a gentleman that has made put his career at stake. The man’s lagna
sign as well as cusp sub-lord, the Moon, identified with his
personality traits occupies the 7th house marked with married partner.
Moon in turn occupies the constellation owned by finance indicator
Venus, which is posited in the 12th house. Venus together with Uranus,
meaning big, is also locked in adverse formation to mischievous
Neptune in the 3rd house identified with efforts, as also
Karmakarak Saturn. It implies that the man nurses the urge to gain
big money through foul or fair means in deference to his wife’s
wishes, which could bring him ill-repute.
The 5th cusp sub-lord, identified with his inherent urges again
happens to be Venus occupying the constellation owned by debilitated
Mars posited in the lagna. Mars, a planet of material orientation,
also being 10th lord identified with career prospects, is conjunct
Mercury the 12th lord identified with difficulties. This brings in the
urge to display his riches which may invite problems to his career. So
it happened, when he was running the conjoint period of Saturn-Rahu-Venus,
all placed adverse to each other in the natal chart. In transit,
retrograde Saturn occupying his Sanga Nadi implied being
through difficult times. Jupiter in transit opposite the natal Mars
meant clash of ego, which put him under scanner. As a consequence, his
career is now in danger for almost a year and half. An ardent believer
that he claims for himself now blames astrology of not having come to
his rescue. How can astrology save him for his blind and willful
misdemeanors arising out of mistaken perceptions, and that too already
put into act?
I wish he understands that the most appropriate use of astrology is to
identify the inherent personality traits and make necessary
corrections in time.

Soul liberates
its body-encasement from misery
Spirituality and thereby
Astrology do not allow any scope for writing somebody’s obituary.
For, in their frame, death does not cause end of life in finality. In
the nature’s scheme of things, birth and death are just modes of
transformation from one body-encasement to the other. Following
death, the soul, which animates a body moves on to its next stretch of
dynamic existence. In fact, death provides an opportunity for the
soul to discard its suffering body-encasement, incapacitated either
due to aging or ailment, and reincarnate with a new body-frame charged
with fresh vigour and strength.
If we give a look into
the construct of the living order, both science and Indian philosophy
agree that life chain got excited by energy streams emanating from the
Primordial-Source. Evidently, every existence has come into being
through transformation of nature driven energy. And, energy does not
die, it can however, change form. Accordingly, following a reversible
process, form-matters can be converted into energy, and energy could
be transformed into form-existence. Evidently, if a dynamic existence
is nothing but a reflection of energy, Indian concept of reincarnation
sounds scientific reason.
Better, we accept this
eternal truth so as to take on the death of near and dear ones with
ease. By nature, no body wishes early death of his loved one.
However, if we really love someone, it becomes incumbent upon us let
him part company and be relieved of pains and sufferings, rather than
just seek presence of his failing body. In recent weeks, two very
well meaning-persons in their late forties, left for heavenly abode,
because of serious ailment. Now their kith and kin are asking why
pray, if it is not heard? Why God takes away life of good people so
early? What then is the relevance of Astrology?
Remember, God is not a
form-being who could be appeased. It is a system that holds on to the
whole process of creation, sustenance, and recycling. God knows no
divide and does not discriminate. We know how a person has been
conducting during the ongoing life. But we are usually not aware of
one’s inherent constitutional weakness, if any. Obviously, if one is
born with a weak construct, God will not reverse it. We need to work
upon that.
We all know that there
exists a force behind our existence. We therefore, wish to seek its
support when faced with a difficult situation. That at least helps us
generate and excite positive energy in our bid to serve the ailing
person. It cannot recharge the body-clock of a person. So, if our
prayer does not yield expected result, it is unfair to blame the God.
And, astrology cannot supersede the laws of nature. It may help
foresee impending events for timely intervention to ensure relatively
quality life. However, it is unethical to predict death in finality.
For, then, a person instead of fighting his ailments will begin
living with death much before it actually comes.
Now that the death has
already taken place, there is no harm looking into the Astrological
indications. Both died of diseases of liver genesis. In both the
cases liver indicator Jupiter is in debility. The lagna indicator
planets have linkage to the 6th house identified with
ailment as also the death signifying 8th house. It simply
implied that they had a short life and were due for end of life on
account of serious ailment. Again, both were undergoing the dasha,
antardasha and pratyantar dasha of death inflicting
badhaka and maraka planets. The transit of planets, at the
time of their death too was detrimental to their survival.
What has already happened
cannot be anyway reversed now. Let us accept the truth and stop
agonising. Otherwise, we may disturb the departed souls from easy
transit to their next course of life.

Why
does every body not succeed when … we all equally begin life with
high hopes and aspirations, and most of us also apparently try to
put in our best? Is our destiny to be blamed, or is there something
wrong in our approach? Experience as well as a look into Indian
Philosophy suggests that destiny just brings in an inclination, and
so does every body’s priority varies. However, finally what matters
is how we conduct ourselves, which again depends on how our thought
process drives us.
A
judicious look into our mind frame becomes imperative, which seldom a
person could do. For, rarely does he try to move beyond his self, but
for which, a dispassionate analysis becomes difficult. Invariably,
therefore, a man remains stuck to his preconditioned mind trends -
both positive and negative. The inherent negatives naturally interfere
with one’s potentials bloom out in full. Therefore, in effect, our
performance level falls short of expectations, being the cause for our
failures in life.
There
are some who draw lesson out of their failure, make necessary amends
in their approach, and march ahead in life. The fatalists, however,
instead of working on their flip side, prefer seeking extra
terrestrial help.
One
such fatalist gentleman has been very actively pursuing his political
ambitions since his college days. However, despite his persistent
efforts for more than two decades now, he has not been able to earn a
stable ground till date. This, despite many admiring qualities he is
possessed with. He is an astrology freak who has consulted all those
who has a name in the field. He has been assured of occupying high
positions by some Nadi astrologers, following mitigation of
past evils. In keeping with their advice, there is hardly any
important temple left in South India, which he would not have visited
to seek divine blessing.
He
also had intermittent bouts of success as well. However, every time he
gets a responsibility, within no time he is known for habitually
inviting controversy with none other than his seniors. He thus loses
his position sooner than later.
A
look into his chart reveals why he has not been able to get over his
hardened habits. Jupiter placed adverse to Mars plays the greatest
devil, which has been responsible for his inflated ego. As a
consequence, he is neither keen to introspect nor open to listening.
He, therefore, remains stuck to his own preconceived perceptions. Mars
again being 2nd lord makes him often lose all sensibilities when his
acerbic remarks play against him. The Sun conjunct mischievous Neptune
and negative Saturn, are all placed opposite the Moon. These planetary
alignments have been responsible for his peculiar beliefs,
self-delusion, disharmony with others, his unpredictable mood swings,
whereby he often misdirects his energies towards unproductive ends to
his detriment. The Moon, the 10th lord identified with his
professional aspirations, is placed in the 6th house synonymous with
his fighting spirit, where from it crosses path with Uranus, which
signifies the elders and superiors. That has been responsible for his
mercurial temperament, argumentative nature, restlessness, and that
also make him habitually collide with elders and superiors. All these
put together play a spoilsport with his public relations, otherwise
vital for a political career.
The
potentials are no less. Jupiter’s favourable aspect on the Sun,
Saturn, and Neptune, when read together with Uranus well disposed off
towards Mercury and Mars both speak high of his talents. That grants
him with excellent organising ability, fearlessness, self-reliance,
sharp well coordinated smooth flowing mental and physical expression,
and excellent oratory.
These virtues however,
will come into full play only when he seriously works upon his
frailties. I am sure he will be in all glory, on these strengths, if
instead of seeking external help he makes necessary correction in
himself.
Time is the
administering tool of the Divine
The
ancient India’s learned masters perceived “Time” as a dynamic entity,
much before modern science realized. For, time, is perceived as a
co-runner with nature’s energy orchestra, all through its run. And,
in terms of nature’s design, all its functional energy providers in
the cosmos, the planets and stars, are ever on their run at their
respective speeds. All these when seen relative to earth, which
itself moves at a great speed, would imply that energy dynamics of
every emerging moment shall be wide apart. Time here, serves as a
measure of varying energy flux extended by nature every emerging
moment. Hence the saying: “Time is the administering tool of
Divine”.
It is
pertinent to note here that every existence in this world stands
raised on an energy platform identifiable with the being. This needs
to be read in light of the fact that every point of the space in this
universe is in immediate and intimate connect with the rest. These
ancient Indian concepts now stand equally vindicated by modern
science. The obvious implication is that any variation in the
nature’s energy flux shall not pass off without influencing all and
sundry on planet earth.
Astrology, based on observation and experiences of ages, has
beautifully scripted the above concepts in applied terms. In terms of
this formulation, ‘time’, marked with periodic realignments of energy
providers, reveals how nature is expected to trigger people’s mind and
psyche in the emerging times. This in turn prompts our thought
process to revisit existing perceptions, and make necessary
corrections in societal dynamics.
In this
scheme of things, periodic eclipses and major planetary alignments act
as markers. Incidentally, the year 2010 got kick-started with a major
lunar eclipse. As already indicated in the 3rd January
issue of this column, we have witnessed series of extremist’s
onslaught killing a large number of policemen and even common men.
Those ghastly incidents woke up the Government out of their slumber to
its rajadharma and take on those challenging state’s authority
in right earnest.
Even the
self-assumed social activists had to go on their back foot following
media chase arising out of unprovoked killing of a good number of
innocent commoners. Till the other day, these very self-assumed
conscience keepers, having no sense of ground realities, had the
audacity to cry foul against the government sighting economic
disparity. They never cared to take cognizance of the fact that
development activities had come to a grinding halt in the extremists
influenced areas, to the detriment of none other than suffering
masses.
It is
again no sheer coincidence that Bhopal Gas tragedy now haunts the
nation once again following an unceremonious court judgment, quarter
of a century after the incident, when Saturn transits opposite Jupiter
and Uranus. That has put a question mark on Corporate accountability
and observance of rajadharma by the then ruling class. The
Government is now working overtime to cover up the lapses of their
predecessors, but that cannot suffice for the pains already suffered
for so long. The opposition too has no moral right to loud mouth the
issue when they too remained unconcerned about their lot during their
share of rule. Perhaps this incident may force the Government to make
necessary corrections in nuclear accountability bill under
consideration now.
The Sun
and Mercury together, now placed adverse to Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus
and Saturn has exposed political hypocrisy in sight in recent time.
The man, having had a full share of power at the centre and state for
a decade, is now trying to establish a secular identity differentiated
from his partners in the game. Supposedly, he is trying to hoodwink
the minority voters and perpetuate religious divide further to serve
his vested interest. I am afraid people will make these political
hawks realize that such political gimmick cannot move them anymore.

Simplify the thought process to ensure continued
success in life
Be easy and simple, and life will turn into a beautiful
experience, my spiritual Guru keeps reminding us again and again. The
underlying message is that if we simplify our thought process, powers
of mind, which is immense, can be utilized to its optimum best,
obviously to our advantage. It is however, easier said than done. For,
the clutters and preconditioning of mind, which remains the cause for
all our habits and desire trends do not get away easy. In fact, any
negative implant in the mind self-creates a security ring around,
difficult to escape under normal circumstances. As a result, mind gets
so much caught up in its self-created complexities that in effect it
fails to put in its best towards productive ends. Obviously,
probability of failure becomes higher.
However, in terms of divine design, the word
‘impossible’ does not hold good for a man. For, he is also armed with
the power of freewill by which he can correct the imperfections within
through conscious efforts and set the ground for a smooth run of life,
the way a river stream flows. A river stream when confronted with
boulders and other hurdles through its run does not get exercised. It
either finds an easy detour, or, through persistent strike it creates
a way through the sides of the hurdle, but ensures its forward march
till its logical end.
Through the exercise of the power of freewill, if a man
is able to do away with the clutters and preconditioning of mind,
otherwise occupying a large chunk of his mind space, his vision finds
wide expanse. He then is able to look beyond his individual-self, and
gets well tuned with nature. Thus, with an expanded vision, he looks
at things with an open mind and is able to see through even
imperceptibles and nothing goes unnoticed. His mindfulness makes him
understand the varying dynamics of time and therefore, he is able to
visualize the emerging trends. He does not try to look for a parallel
to his past experiences. He therefore is able to arrive at the right
judgment and make most appropriate choices. Evidently success greets
him.
The paradox is that man is comfort loving by nature and
given a choice, he will wish to have gains without pains. So, majority
does not care to work upon their frailties and count too much on their
piecemeal past experiences. They seldom realize that the dynamics of
every emerging moment is different with no parallel in the past. And,
they invite failure of their own making.
A case in point is that of a gentleman who had earned a
fortune through certain measure. He tried out the same route after a
decade despite being forewarned about the impending danger.
Astrological chart drawn at the moment of consultation revealed that
Moon, the mind indicator formed an unholy alliance with mischievous
Neptune. It implied that the deal was fraught with danger of being
subject to cheating. And, so it happened.
The man,
counting on his past experiences, and the status earned meanwhile, he
was so overconfident that he did not listen. And now that he has been
taken for a ride, he is desperately trying to salvage his position.
The reason is not far to seek. His lagna sub-lord Mars is
placed adverse to Jupiter being indicative of his high ego whereby he
remains stuck to his preconceived notions. The mind indicator, the
Moon, is conjunct Rahu in the 4th house, also placed adverse to
his 10th lord Saturn. That speaks of his unquenched craving for
material wealth. Moon is in exchange with 4th lord Sun means that the
moment this exchange becomes operative, he was due for failure on
similar count, which earlier brought him success. I wish that he
softens his approach and listens to sane counsel.

Temper down your ego to ensure a life with ease and
comfort
We all wish to live on our own terms, which the younger
generation has been of late advocating loud. Why not? When, the
architect of creation has granted us with the exclusive privilege to
guide our actions by choice and discrimination. Here, the very
association of the word “discrimination” with our right to freedom
means that a check tool has been purposely put in place so that we
make right choices. But, what if the faculty of discriminate
intelligence is not invoked before taking the final call? One may then
get carried away by his fanciful desires, oblivious to the calling of
our collective existence. As a result, chances are that we may be
crossing path with all those around, which may vitiate our peaceful
co-existence.
Why? For, the mind, our driving tool, is pliable.
Therefore, the probability to pick up self-undoing lead shall be no
less than the chance to be driven towards productive ends. Even more
so, because every individual is necessarily cast in a unique mould,
quite different from all others. Therefore, invariably, each of us
reflects varying inherent traits, which determine our desire trends.
In order to checkmate the possibility of picking up unbecoming leads
owing to double propensity of mind, the divine has armed us with the
faculty of discriminate intelligence. This particular faculty of mind,
when in use, provides us with the sense of reasons to dispassionately
evaluate the issues in hand, and act right.
How far we are able to make use of our faculty of
discrimination is again dependent upon our ego level, which is
necessarily there in all of us to some extent or the other. In case
the ego plays high, one gets stuck to his preconditioned mind. Such
characters do not feel the necessity to apply proper forethought
before making choices. They do not take any counsel kindly, rather
they try to passionately force their way. Naturally, the faculty of
discriminate intelligence gets clouded and sense of reasons stifled,
and the person becomes vulnerable to act irresponsibly. So, more often
than not, they are neither at peace by the self, nor allow an easy
life for those around. Once peace is disturbed, evidently, priority
preferences take a back seat to our detriment. The paradox however, is
that we all wish to enjoy a prosperous life with ease and comfort, but
seldom do we remain conscious about tempering down our egos, which
interferes with our growth potential.
Astrology can help identify the ego level for timely
correction. Following case study of more than a dozen charts belonging
to people with bad marriage, of many factors, fiery Mars and expansive
Jupiter have been found to play the greatest devil. The two joining
hands point to high level of ego. And, if they are placed adverse to
each other, that becomes even the worst. The Sun and Jupiter together
also makes a person self-opinionated, though less intense than Mars
Jupiter combination. Afflicted Mercury is indicative of a person being
stuck to a state of self-delusion, far away from ground realities.
Involvement of Uranus in the line-up of planets tends a person to defy
settled societal norms. Neptune coming into play brings in an element
of unpredictability in conduct.
In two
cases, where the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury are together, all placed
adverse to Mars, the marriage is on the rocks. In both the cases,
Uranus and Neptune both have joined the space one way or the other.
That makes the situation even graver. When one of the above ladies was
counseled to look upon her ego, she retorted: why should I compromise
on my self-identity? That is typical of me. My partner needs to accept
me the way I am. I wish she realizes that it cannot be a one way
affair.

Lessons of life
help in correcting human imperfection
Imperfection caused at
the Primordial-Source being at the root of the creation chain, every
individual is born imperfect in terms of mind-frame and functional
traits. For, the source has to find reflection in the product. In
order to rise above our limitations, the divine design has also
empowered us with the power of freewill armed with discriminate
intelligence. Through the exercise of this faculty, one could work
upon the imperfections and improve upon quality of life further
through conscious efforts.
The question now arises
do we remain conscious about identifying our frailties, so as to work
upon them through exercise of the power of freewill, as a matter of
routine? Do we care to improve upon our skill levels so that we could
successfully translate our efforts into fruits? The truth of life
however, is that we all wish to grow and add to our comfort level.
But, very few amongst us remain conscious about empowering themselves
enough to successfully pursue desires to their logical ends. Most of
us just get carried away by our wishful thoughts, not caring to
improve upon quality of efforts needed to attain success. We seldom
remember that what is put to effect at perceptible level, first
originates in the mind. And, if it begins on a weak premise, the end
result has to be short of expectations and even failures.
It is pertinent to note
here that mind, which drives a man, is pliable. Therefore, more often
than not, it keeps wandering in the glare and glitter of the various
tempting influences of the seeming world. Once caught up in the
illusionary seeming world, one does not care to get to the truth
underlying seeming realities by invoking one’s discriminate
intelligence. In the process, one often picks up wrong leads,
obviously to his detriment. But, then, going through such learning
lessons of life, one matures and grows to successfully steer their
course of life on expected lines later. But, what if one wilfully
ignores such lessons and remains stuck to his own fanciful ideas?
Naturally, he invites his own doom. It often happens with those not
conscious about correcting their imperfections. Such characters can
be figured out in advance through astrology, and guided to evade
failings.
A gentleman wanted to
check the other day whether time was right for him to make fresh
attempts in shares to earn quick money as he had organised necessary
funds from a friend banker. The man had earlier gambled twice and
lost heavily, and yet, he dares to venture into the same line once
again. His gambling instincts become obvious with Mars the 5th
lord placed opposite Jupiter. This very combination has also been
responsible for his inflated ego, whereby he remains stuck to his own
self-delusion, as would Mercury placed adverse to mischievous Neptune
imply, not open to learning. The Sun in his lagna opposite Uranus,
makes him passionately pursue unconventional approach. Such
characters usually enjoy exploring methods at variance with any
established route. What he is not aware of is that for a man
primarily driven by the sign Sagittarius, the 5th lord also
being the 12th lord, he is bound to loose in speculation.
For, the 12th house identified with loss and expenses is 8th
(identified with difficulties) from the 5th implying that
he may invite his own failing because of gambling instincts.
Let us now see, what suits him for his
career. The Karmakaraka Saturn together with personality indicator
Moon is in the sign Sagittarius, identified with law, philosophy and
teaching. Communication signifying Mercury follows in the next sign.
Jupiter is there in the 10th house, again in conformity
with above indications. Given his age, he should remain focused to
law profession which he is pursuing and that itself will earn him
glory in near future.

Ancient India’s wisdom can guide you
through a secure and pleasant life
Human beings are born
with inherent urge to evolve and grow. Following this spirit, mankind
has continuously explored beyond the known, expanded their reach, and
increasingly empowered themselves. Thus, man has grown from his
primitive stage to the present technologically and scientifically
developed age through conscious efforts. The pace of growth has
varied from time to time, but development process has continued
unabated.
In the olden days, the
learned masters explored knowledge without any preconditioning of
mind. In the process, they gathered in clear terms that individual
wellbeing is secure only when collective existence is taken care of
and accordingly they adopted holistic approach to life. They pursued
their search with qualitative human existence in focus. Therefore,
they could relate their perception with human life cycle in practical
terms.
The pace of growth has
been faster in the present age compared to the past but with a
difference. Having been overtaken by western approach of
specialization, the whole generation seems to have moved from holistic
to fractioned approach. As consequence, with unprecedented technology
driven economic and Industrial growth, we have been responsible for
creating imbalances in almost all aspects of life.
The worst about the
present age is that we seem to have forgotten the eternal truths of
life, as if we have outgrown their limits, which is driving us crazy.
Overtaken by unprecedented growth, our egos have grown so much that
despite our fractioned knowledge, we tend to believe that we have
become all knowing. The least that we care is to take lead from
ancient wisdom, which is being vindicated every time a major
scientific revelation is made. Our elders could map the cosmos, no
less than what modern astronomy has been able to comprehend. And, the
beauty of their perception was that they could relate their
understanding about nature driven forces with our day to day life
cycle. They could comprehend the energy concept of creation chain,
almost on similar lines as modern physics perceives. They understood
time-space relativity much ahead of Einstein and applied their
knowledge in day to day practice, as would India’s old age micro and
macro concept of time in practice would reveal. Based on their
knowledge, they had formulated well developed mechanism in the form of
Astrology to figure out, mind trends, the health status, so as to make
necessary corrections.
As of the present,
fractioned approach to life has literally overtaken our thought
process. A case in point is that of a young man with inflated ego as
would expansive Jupiter placed adverse to fiery Mars imply. So, he
got caught up in his own perception and was not open to sane advice of
his elders and mentors. He developed fancy for a girl, who in his
view could be rated high for urban page three appearances. In his
egotistical hang, he did not care to figure out the personality traits
of the girl before making the final call. His chart clearly indicated
marital turbulence if he makes an impulsive decision. For, the 7th
cusp sub-lord, Moon, the marriage indicator, was placed in the
constellation owned by Rahu conjunct Mars and placed adverse to
Saturn. He was also told that the true self of the partner will
unfold only after he settles down into marriage.
Threat perception became
even more obvious when the girl’s Ego level was found equally high, as
would adverse placement of Jupiter and Mars may imply. This when read
together with Rahu’s presence in the 4th house, and
the 4th lord Saturn placed opposite mischievous Neptune,
meant domestic disturbances. Not even a year has gone bye since
marriage, and the gentleman is already fed up with his decision. Had
he paid heed to the ancient India’s wisdom, he could have very well
averted such unpleasantness.

Astrology the health profile indicator
The manifest
plural world has come into being through play and interplay of energy
streams extended by nature. Going by Indian philosophy, energy trinity
got excited from the Energy-whole at the Primordial-Source, which
multiplied into umpteen variants.
The source being
energy, the manifest too is nothing but reflection of a mix of
vibrating energy patterns, all sourced to nature. The variation of the
energy mix is what identifies a person and differentiates him from
others. The particular energy identity speaks of the making of an
individual in terms of his personality projection, frame of mind &
psyche, as well as one’s health profile. Accordingly, energy map of
the heaven at the time of one’s birth, gives a hint of the basic
fabric of one’s making and trends in life likely to follow. In this
scheme of things, energy alignments marked with planets and stellar
divisions, as reflected at the time of one’s birth, will indicate
about one’s potentials and detriments. Let me make it clear here that
the planets parse by itself, does no good or bad to a person. In fact,
the energy routed through a particular geographical division with the
planet in the centre is what actually influences our life. It is again
a scientifically established dictum that every point of the space is
in intimate and immediate connect with the rest. Evidently, the
varying dynamics of nature’s energy orchestra will influence upon all
aspects of our life cycle.
Following the
above concept, our ancient seers have worked out a well defined
mechanism to figure out one’s health profile. By this concept, the
Sun, the prime mover of the immediate galaxy, around which all major
planetary bodies move, has been assigned the role of health manager.
The status of the Sun in a person’s chart determines how strong or
weak one’s immune system is. The lagna speaks of one’s general
health. The 6th house gives an indication of one’s vulnerability to
probable health weaknesses. The 8th house is marked with the
difficulties in life on various counts including health reasons. In a
generalised sense, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are termed as
karakas (causative factor) of disease, but not the only. Even
other planets, if not placed well, may add to one’s woes. Here it is
pertinent to note that energies routed through various planetary
bodies are available in equal proportion to one and all. However, the
absorption of various energies will vary from person to person
depending upon the basic fabric of one’s making and that may speak of
individual’s health profile. There are also time tested tools
available to improve upon absorption level of energy applying which
necessary correction could also be made in terms of one’s health
profile and general conduct. So, the purpose of identifying one’s
health profile by this mechanism is to make timely correction and
ensure a healthy life.
In the above frame, let
us analyse the health profile of a person. The lagna lord Moon is in
debility. The Sun, incidentally the lagna sub-lord also, is
afflicted by its dire enemy the Saturn and Rahu implying low
immunity and disorderly distribution of vital energy to various
functional organs in the body, making him vulnerable to infections and
diseases. Venus placed adverse to Saturn means hormonal imbalance.
Fiery Mars conjunct Jupiter and Mercury implies excessive bile
secretion and impaired internal communication. The 8th sub-lord
Ketu in the constellation owned by Saturn, the 6th sub-lord,
indicates long drawn suffering. Even the probable time frame can be
figured out. In this particular case, as soon as the progressed
lagna formed adverse angle to natal Sun, his health took an
adverse turn. Having thus known one’s health profile, he could have
very well taken preventive measures and then he would have been able
to avert health complications confronting him.

As you sow, so shall you reap
A
gentleman in his late fifties suffers from “I am the only right
person" syndrome. He has the habit of finding fault with all those not
true to his expectations, and then ridiculing them with his caustic
remarks. He did not spare even his children. His only son’s growth was
little slow compared to his contemporaries. Whenever this man found
his son in company with his healthier friends, he used to publicly
compare the two, and reprimand his son for slow growth assigning his
poor eating habits. The child was emotionally very touchy and
sensitive and he used to feel really hurt about his public image being
shattered before his peer group.
The
child’s ordeal did not end there. Even later, instead of being
encouraged, he had to bear with taunting of his father, every time he
failed to score fully to his expectations. That gentleman really meant
good of his son. But, he would not know that his indiscretion was
sowing seeds of inferiority complex in his own child. In course of
time, inferiority complex having gravitated has by now graduated into
schizophrenia. And, now the course has turned back on the father, his
son’s thought process becoming incoherent leading to the latter’s
unbecoming conduct.
The
son’s astrological chart bears testimony to all that has been happened
to him. His lagna sign Sagittarius is occupied by headless
Ketu to imply that he lacks sense of tact and diplomacy and given
a small negative trigger may go headless. The lagna lord, Jupiter is
in its sign of detriment and is subject to aspect of fiery Mars,
indicative of high ego whereby he may not take things kindly if played
beyond his expectations. Mars and Saturn aspect each other to mean
that he will be argumentative, impulsive and shall not mind charging
head on even the elders, when vexed.
The
mind indicator, the Moon is in its own sign Cancer, a highly emotive
sign and that too conjunct intelligence indicator Mercury. The two are
afflicted by demonic Rahu. All put together means that though
intelligent having very good communicative skill, is not focused, is
vulnerable to getting into self delusion, and would suffer from
unpredictable mood swings. The person needs lot of love.
The
Sun, signifying father, is locked in unholy alliance with mischievous
Neptune as well as Rahu. It simply implies that the son may be
subject to father’s negative approach. And, so it happened. His ordeal
actually began when his progressed lagna touched upon Ketu
in his 10th year. Further when progressed Sun formed trine with
Neptune during his 15th year, he began to reflect psychic problem. The
parents mistook it as his attitude and instead of trying to get him
treated medically, they continued with their reprimands. The result is
there for all to see.
Now
when the son is reaching 30, his progressed Lagna is on
Neptune’s axis. Progressed Mercury is locked in adverse formation
again with Neptune. Progressed Mars is over his Moon. Progressed Sun
touches emotive Venus. Transit Saturn aspects his natal Mars. All put
together means that his emotional frame of mind has taken an ugly
turn. His thought process has become totally incoherent and he is
overtaken by schizophrenia. His aggression has begun to take a toll on
his near and dear ones. Late though, but it is still not late to seek
medical intervention.
Had the parents cared to understand their child’s mind and psyche,
they would have refrained from conducting him in a negative mode. They
would have tried to shape their child through the exercise of love and
encouragement. Remember, the power of words is great. The content and
character of words could instill positivity or induce negativity,
depending on the way they are framed. Therefore, mind your words
particularly before a tender mind.

Begin on a weak note and you invite your failure
There was entropy once. What immediately followed was harmonization of
energy streams excited by the Primordial-Source during the process,
which in turn set in motion creation chain that finally culminated in
the manifest plural world. The imprint of chaos and harmony therefore
are to be found at every level of creation, including the man. It
needs to be appreciated here is that when a bag full of vibrating
energy patterns rocking through almost 72 billion nerve chain spread
across the body are left to themselves, there has to be chaos inside
all of us. Now, to harmonize and steer through convergence of the
chaotic energy streams into a coordinated productive exercise is the
prerogative of human mind. How far we succeed in this measure will
determine a man’s fortune.
Very few amongst us really understand the construct of our mind and
remain conscious about organising its
coordinated functioning. But those who consciously work upon their
minds, are not simply at their best, rather they are the ones
qualified to create history. This fact has been summed up by Swami
Vivekanand in the following
words:
“History of the world is the history of few men
Who had faith in themselves.
Faith calls out divinity within you;
You can do everything.
You fail, only when you do not strive sufficiently
to manifest ‘infinite power”.
When we fail to unfold the best in us, setbacks and disappointments
are to naturally follow. And, then we try to cover up our failure by
assigning the blame on our destiny, supposedly arbitrated by some
divine external agency, which it is not. Destiny, in fact, is nothing
but a product of one’s own karma which finds reflection by way of our
attitudes and attributes. Evidently, how well ordained our
functional-selves are shall determine the quality of our work and
thereby the fruits of our action.
Here is the case of a qualified doctor. The person must be intelligent
enough first to qualify and then successfully complete her medical
studies. The doctor in fact worked for a while here in India, before
she migrated to USA following her marriage. There, it is mandatory to
clear a qualifying examination before she is allowed to work or even
seek admission for specialized studies. Even after three-four attempts
she has already made, she was not able to clear the examination. Now
she has begun to self-doubt herself and has been looking for options
other than medical science she could pursue. Why? Has destiny not been
on her side?
The lady’s chart clearly indicates that the urge to become a doctor
naturally came to her. For, Karmakarak
Saturn, benevolent Jupiter, and health manager, the Sun, are all
together, in the sign Virgo, the 6th house of natural zodiac,
identified with ailments. Yet if she failed to clear off the
qualifying examination was simply because of her assumed fears about
the standard of Medical science in USA. Why? Here in India, her
confidence level was relatively better, as would happen to any
ordinary mortal in one’s homeland. However, in altogether alien
atmosphere, she has invited inferiority complex of her own accord, and
with that all her frailties have come into full play as would
progressed Lagna conjunct
mischievous Neptune imply. For, Mercury, identified with communication
skills, is placed adverse to Rahu
and Jupiter. So, given a small trigger, she will be lacking in focus,
which may impair her thought process, as would afflicted Sun and Moon
conjunct in Virgo, a dual sign, imply.
She has to just drive away her assumed fears,
and then she will realize that she failed because she did the mistake
of underrating herself before she took her examination. Very recently,
in similar cases, two young medical graduates cleared off their
qualifying examination after being put to a simple mental exercise.

You need to be alert at forty, the
midpoint of life
“Forty
is naughty”, it is so said about marital life in particular. Why? A
look at the dynamics of the number forty may throw some light. In
Western frame, number four is identified with Uranus, the planet
marked for an ingenious mind qualified to be a pioneer in one’s
field. However, the same planet when placed negative may mean
mindless unconventionality and even idiosyncrasy. Going by the Indian
school, the number four corresponds to the planet Rahu, which
again is marked for its strangeness. So, all said and done, this age
has the potential to reflect unusualness, may be good or bad, which
cannot go unnoticed.
Normally, you remain conscious about your limits in the outer world.
Therefore, you still manage o behave, even at the age of forty.
However, back home, you operate in a demanding mode and take your
partners for granted. And, after a prolonged monotony, marriage does
not remain exciting anymore and cracks begin to appear, but mostly
because of mistaken perceptions. Such characters, in their state of
frustration, often get drawn into perverse acts, obviously, to the
person’s detriment.
Forty
is again midpoint of life. By this time a man is supposed to have
graduated enough to have earned a place for him and settled down in
life. A sense of fulfillment earned thereof, rakes up individual ego
in the man, which induces in him the urge to force his individualistic
ways. There is another type of character, which though would not have
had spectacular gains to his credit, and would have spent most of the
time in routine. Even such characters stabilize in their minds. But
in those cases, individual preconditioning and attitudes firm up so
much that they begin to tell upon individual and societal peace.
A case
in point is that of a young lady who enters into her forty, not aware
that her protracted idiosyncrasy, which she could afford to put up
with so far, has made her so intemperate that she is about to dig her
own grave soon. She seems to have self assumed that people fear her,
and that her peace loving near and dear ones, will still not dare rock
her. Whenever her husband tries to talk sense, she will try to
justify her actions in the name of right to freedom. What she
forgets that freedom does not mean that we can sit at the centre of
the road and sell vegetables and inconvenience all passerby. Mind it
human beings are endowed with the power of freewill not to do what you
like, but to work upon one’s frailties so as to turn life into a
beautiful experience through conscious efforts. Alas! The lady would
have understood this.
Astrological chart of the lady makes an interesting reading. Both the
luminaries are afflicted with their dire opposite Saturn, which imply
strong seeds of depression, pessimism, lethargy, antagonistic to
elders and parents. She should be habitually suspicious about
everybody and anybody. Mars is placed adverse to Uranus, Saturn, and
the Sun to mean that she should be temperamental, reckless,
argumentative, impatient, and foul mouthed. Mercury placed adverse to
Uranus and Neptune implies that she should be unconventional,
opinionated, and eccentric, suffer from self delusion, shall have
impaired reasoning, and a habitual liar. Jupiter through its
benevolent aspect on the Sun seems to be the only savior.
Still living in her own trip, the lady
is not aware that her progressed lagna is opposite mischievous
Neptune implying that she may invite problems because of her own
unpredictable conduct. Secondly, the Progressed Sun as of now is
placed adverse to Moon, Rahu and Venus indicative of serious
emotional turbulence, which if happens, the incorrigible lady is going
to be simply dumped this time. It is still not late for her to come
back to senses.

Work upon
frailties of mind to unfold the best in you
Nature, all through its run, has evolved and expanded. Following this
design imprint, man is naturally born with an inherent urge to grow
beyond the present and enjoy a fulfilling life. That keeps man’s
creative urge on. Man is also armed with the requisite skills and
empowerment tools necessary to lead his ambitions to its logical end
as well. Fact however remains that not everybody succeeds in his
mission. Why? Does destiny play devil to those who fail in their
endeavour? And, after all, what is destiny?
Let me make it clear that
destiny is not something which is arbitrated by some external agency.
It is actually the product of one’s own karma, during the previous
birth, which is subject to add on through learning and unlearning
during the ongoing life. In accordance with the imprints of one’s
karma, a certain desire trend, habits, attitudes, and attributes, come
into being, which self-programme the course of the life to follow.
All these imprints in our mind drive our functional-self. Some of
these imprints could be born out of mistaken perceptions and therefore
could excite trends contrary to one’s own interests.
Nature, as a part of
design has also armed us with the power of freewill whereby one could
guide his actions by choice and discrimination. Through the exercise
of this power, one could make necessary amends and reframe the course
of life in the right spirit. We are seldom alert enough to use this
inherent power in time, which is why we often fail to strive
sufficiently to manifest the best in us, as Swami Vivekanand
suggests. So, destiny does not fail us. Here, astrology can prove a
very effective diagnostic tool in identifying our frailties as well as
potentials.
It therefore, becomes
incumbent upon us to first know ourselves, and then make necessary
corrections, so that ground can be laid down for the positives to work
to their optimum best. Here is the case of a very ambitious person
who often lands into problem, because, he has not worked upon his mind
traits so far in right earnest. His trine houses, the fiery signs,
and the Kendra houses are heavily loaded with planets, which point to
his high ambitions. The two most creative planets, Jupiter and Venus,
in the 10th house meaning that they were over his head when
born, further add to his aspirations level. He has lot of other
positive placements in his astrological chart. The exalted Sun, duly
supported by benevolent Jupiter, makes him qualitative which makes him
subscribe to a value system, whereby he cannot stoop low even in the
figment of his imagination. The Sun also placed favourably to Saturn,
grants him with organising abilities which makes him a leader in his
own right. Mind signifying Moon placed favourable to Mercury,
identified with intelligence, add to his communicative skill and
analytical abilities.
All put together could
have taken him to great height in his career. But, somehow his
efforts did not match the expectations of his desire level, for, only
one planet occupies a movable sign, the majority lying in fixed
signs. The Sun is placed adverse to emotionally ordained Venus, which
makes him too much emotionally sensitive and touchy whereby he may get
trapped into trivial issues so much that the priority preference may
get ignored. Fiery Mars crossing path with the Sun makes him
irritable, too much argumentative, and impulsive. Mars is also placed
adverse to the Karmakarak Saturn, which makes him impatient,
intolerant, and un-accommodative. The Moon shaded by headless Ketu,
in Virgo sign, makes him suffer from “I am the only right person
syndrome” and habitually a worried man.
It is still not too late for him to
work upon his weaknesses, and tomorrow shall be great.

Work upon mind to unfold the best you
Human conflicts have been as much a part of civilization’s history as
has been the growth story. The cause rests with none other than his
empowerment tool itself – the power of freewill whereby he can guide
his actions by choice and discrimination. But, mind it
freedom entails as much probability to get into self-undoing act as to
work towards productive ends. More so, because, each individual born
into this world is cast in a unique mould quite different from others,
obviously with varying perceptive abilities and limitations and
thereby varying mindsets. Therefore, unlike nature, where all field
players moving in togetherness, evolved and expanded all through its
run, limitation of one’s mind restricts him to his own self, which
often restricts his growth. For, in nature’s scheme of things no
individual has a reality differentiated from the totality.
However, the element of freewill again empowers a man to work upon his
individual limitations, which lets his vision and intellect expand,
and make the mind function in a coordinated way. It then becomes
possible to figure out and then follow nature’s mandate to evolve and
grow through conscious efforts, individually and collectively. Failing
which, man invites pains and sufferings of his own making.
Now, man primarily driven by his mind, a look into its composition
becomes imperative, so as to get to know what causes individual
limitations. Human mind comprises of four components: (a) Citta,
the feeling side by which one perceives things one way or the other.
(b) Budhi, discriminate intelligence, by which one could
dispassionately and objectively judge things. (c) Ahamkar, the
ego aspect whereby a person self-assumes an identity differentiated
from totality, related fallout of which is a sense of duality. (d)
Manasa, the sense driven mind, the frontrunner, which collects
data from the outer world, and could instinctively react and respond
to a situation as well. All four though discharging their independent
assignments, are inter-dependant and have to work in perfect
coordination with each other. In this scheme of things, Manasa
collects data pertaining to field experience, makes them available to
Budhi for the right judgment, and also draw instructions there
from to act. However, often, our overbearing ego binds mind to its
preconditioned mandates so much that it restricts the Budhi
from playing its part. As a consequence, truths underlying seeming
realities get overlooked, and we get into unintelligent acts,
obviously to our detriment.
Here is the case of a lady who has just lived by herself never caring
for her husband’s sensibility and concerns. For three decades now,
there has not been even semblance of peace in their life. The lady,
born in Gemini lagna, she lives on her own terms, completely
alienated from ground realities. The Sun and Jupiter locked in adverse
formation speaks of her swaggering ego. Saturn placed opposite the
mind indicator, Moon, brings in a sense of negativity, which restricts
her vision. Intelligence indicator, Mercury, is conjunct mischievous
Neptune, and placed adverse to intellectually ordained Uranus. That
has been responsible for her self-delusion and impaired reasoning. So,
there is total malfunctioning of all co-ordinates of mind. To top it,
Mars is placed adverse to Moon, Uranus and Neptune, which makes her
temperamental, impulsive, aggressive, irrational, whereby more often
than not she misdirects her energies towards unproductive ends. She
also suffers from inferiority complex. So, all conditions are ripe for
the lady’s thought process being incoherent.
The lady’s husband, now in a state of desperation, is exploring
possibility of some remedial religious exercise. There are of course
proven spiritual techniques to restore order to mind, provided the
person concerned does it by oneself, which does not seem possible in
case of the lady concerned. For, she seems to be suffering from
serious psychiatric disorder. Better seek immediate medical help. This
is no stage to try out an alternate therapy.

Freedom,
devoid of sense of responsibility, becomes devilish
The best management model
worth emulating can be none other than the cosmos. It is a unique
arrangement where all players enjoy freedom in the sense that they
have been pursuing their own independent paths. But, there is an order
with a self enforced sense of responsibility, which holds them
together, and which carries forward the creative chain. Their
continued harmony since time immemorial would not have been possible
if they did not move in a giving mode, reflecting a sense of universal
love and brotherhood.
Look at the way solar
family runs. All the planets, pursuing their independent paths, move
around the Sun, allowing independent space to each other and never
crossing each other’s path. They all draw succour from the Sun, as
is the case with Moon which does not have its own light. It draws
light drawn from the Sun and other stellar bodies, which it reflects,
but not before turning hot solar radiation into amiable form.
Similarly, energies routed through other planetary bodies do also
carry their own stamping. The Sun, though the prime mover, cannot by
itself suffice the needs of the life chain on planet Earth. However,
together with its associates, it does.
We are all aware that
life on planet earth is dependant on nature and therefore has to move
in consonance with it. It therefore becomes incumbent upon us to
follow nature’s mandate. It is interesting to note here that as in
the cosmos, man is also born free, but with a difference. In the
cosmos, the players cannot misuse freedom while respectively
discharging their assigned tasks. On the contrary, man guided by a
sense of relative perception, and with the element of freedom he
enjoys, becomes a double edged weapon. Pursuing nature’s mandate, if
all and sundry train their energies responsibly and righteously, it
turns into great strength, making life a beautiful experience. If,
however, all of us passionately pursue own wishful thinking, not
caring for the common concerns, they will cross each other’s path, and
our very existence will be at stake. A great majority seems to be
either ignorant of the design underlying our existence. Or, that they
are so badly trapped into the web of their own whimsical desires and
fancies, that they willfully defy societal concerns, which is why we
are witness to all sorts of societal malfunctioning.
The truth of life is that
contrary to nature’s mandate, most of us act in a demanding mode, not
caring for common concerns. The result is there for all to see.
Families are breaking, because, the partners passionately pursue their
individual whimsical urges, not caring for their collective
obligations. People are increasingly getting into all perverse acts
not caring for societal sensitivity and concerns. And, in this
verbose world, the ignorant deviants have the audacity to engage you
in a war of words in public domain and justify their mistaken
priorities in the name of right to freedom. Remember, the element of
freedom is necessarily punched with a great sense of responsibility.
It is pertinent to note here that most
of the societal norms are guided by nature driven design underlying
our existence. For instance, when energy particles with opposite
charge converge, they lead to creation, but similar polarities repel
each other. Men and women for that matter are born with their
distinct energy characteristics complementary to each other to pursue
their creative urges. If on the contrary, people of the same sex
meet, it will definitely create energy imbalances in the system, the
echoes of which will adversely affect our mental, emotional, and
physical state, with obvious consequences. It is time now that so
called self-acclaimed intellectuals and socialites, instead of getting
stuck to seeming realities, begin to seek guidance from nature’s
school, and refrain from lending credence to the perverse. Otherwise,
we are fast heading towards doomsday.

Positive organisation of the mind is necessary for success
Two
fresh Medical graduates had done their degree course in a foreign
country. They had to clear a mandatory proficiency test which
qualified them to practice medical science here in India, and they
wanted to know their prospects at the forthcoming examination. A
sense of gloom was writ large on their faces. Why do you look so
stressed and worried, I asked? Twice we have failed, and god knows how
long it will take for us to settle down, hence the worry. So, fear of
failure was imprinted in their minds, which is why, they had lost
their confidence and esteem.
I
asked them to leave aside astrological prospects and first work upon
their minds, if they wished to ensure success, which was not denied.
They were told that memory of two successive failures has instilled
sense of fear in their minds. That put them into unnecessary brooding
and contemplation, impressions of which considerably cluttered their
mind space, and consumed considerable sum of vital energy. The flight
of their imagination never allowed them to remain focused to their
studies, and whatever they gather did not find enough space to be
retained. Their minds were so rattled that they lacked the
co-ordination necessary to retrieve even what they had in their memory
and they failed to perform.
Both
of them were put to a regular 20 minutes of mental exercise meant to
shed their fears, and organise their minds, before they took up their
studies. Within a week’s time, they felt quite relaxed. They had
regained their confidence and were able to concentrate at least for
almost two hours at a stretch. They could retain in their memories
most of what they read. Just a month and half there after, they
happily informed that they had scored quite high and successfully got
through their proficiency test.
Now
coming to astrology, the ongoing directions in their charts looked
quite favourable. For, transit Jupiter extended its benevolent aspect
to natal Mercury, the planet identified with academic gains implying
success in their efforts. Yet, if they could not cash on it, it
implied that there had to be something wrong in their organisation of
the mind.
In
one case, the Sun appears to be shaded by demonic Rahu placed in an
emotional sign and opposite mischievous Neptune. That makes him
emotionally touchy, by habit an escapist who may put off things, and
misdirect his energies towards inconsequential ends. Mind indicator
Moon too is placed adverse to Rahu and, therefore, he lacks
patience and focus. Intelligence and memory signifying Mercury,
occupying its own sign, is placed favourable to the Moon, but adverse
to both Jupiter and Saturn. It implies that though he is intelligent
having good communicative skill, he lacks focus, and often gets
trapped into self assumed internal conflicts.
In
another case, Mars occupying the lagna identified with
individual’s personality needs to be marked. It is conjunct Mercury
and Rahu, opposite mischievous Neptune, and locked in adverse
angular dispensation with Moon. It implies that he is temperamental,
moody, irritable, argumentative, and rash. He may suffer from
self-delusion and inferiority complex. He lacks focus and at one go
his mind will be into too many things. He has a nervous tendency as
well. Venus is placed adverse to both the Sun and Moon. That makes him
too much emotionally touchy and sensitive, who may get trapped into
trivial issues so much that priority preferences may take a backseat.
What emerges loud and clear from the
above study is that the two had not cared to work upon their inherent
weakness. Therefore, they were not able to unfold the best in them,
which accounted for their failure. Their destinies did not fail them.
Little exercise of their minds, and they tasted success.

Sportsman spirit can turn negative into positive
My attention was drawn to loose remark of a child, about 8 to 10 years
old, playing cricket with his friends in a street: “āja bhagya mere
satha nahin hai, lagta hai Sani āja mere upar bhāri hai isiliye tum
out nahin ho rahe ho”. Its literal translation implies that
luck was not playing on his side and probably Saturn was playing devil
on him, which is why he was not able to strike the batsman out. This
casual remark of the child reflects that the seed of escapism has
already been planted in the child’s mind. He is trying to find an
excuse for his failure in destiny and Saturn. If this trend is allowed
to persist, it may turn into habit, with obvious negative implications
to follow. Imagine, how deadly could be such inadvertent implants, and
obviously from the family environment.
The general perception of Saturn, mistakenly though, is negative.
Sadism, depression, inertia, delay, difficulties, failures, ailment,
and all such negative implications are ascribed to the influence of
Saturn. Although, Saturn may cast such negative influence, if locked
in adverse formation with other planets, it is not necessarily evil.
It also acts a leveller, as it can bring in patience, focus,
sincerity, organizing ability, and make one methodical, if favourably
placed. It is also a philosophic planet which may act a reformer. For,
it imparts lessons of life, though a hard way, but out of it, one may
emerge strong enough to withstand emerging challenges with ease and
comfort.
Remember, like any other planet, Saturn too is an energy provider.
And, energies by themselves cannot discriminate and are therefore,
available in equal proportion to one and all. Of course, the
absorption level of a particular energy may vary from person to
person, according as one’s basic fabric of making. And, that
corresponds to the influence of the varying energy flux extended by
nature at the time of one’s birth, which indicate one’s inherent mind
trends.
It needs to be remembered here that any energy, by itself, cannot do
any good or bad. It has to reflect upon us the way it is driven by our
minds, in accordance with our ingrained tendencies.
Here, it also needs to be born in mind that we human beings enjoy the
power of freewill, by which we can guide our actions by choice and
discrimination. Evidently, through the exercise of this power, we can
make amends in our mind trends and turn it positive. In this respect,
astrology can prove a very effective tool in identifying one’s
inherent tendencies. Having made necessary corrections, not only can
we get over negative implications of the planet if any, but also use
them positively to our full advantage. It is a different matter that
more often than not, instead of using this empowerment tool to correct
our flip side, we use it more to passionately pursue our individual
whims and fancies.
In this context, astrological charts belonging to three legendary
sportsmen of our country deserve mention. In all those charts, Saturn
is placed adverse to prime mover, the Sun, to indicate seeds of
negativity in them, which in practical terms are not to be found in
their conduct. They are rather known for their continued exemplary
performances. How? The answer lies in their training to fight to the
finish and prove their superiority over their contenders. On account
of this particular frame of their mind, the same Saturn, which would
have otherwise proved a dampener, grants them with the focus and
patience necessary to prove a performer.
In
fact, sports under the guidance of a proper trainer can prove to be a
very good personality building exercise for a child. It may inculcate
a sense of discipline, mental alertness, patience, focus, and fighting
spirit, with obvious positive bearing in all aspects of his functional
self till the end of his life.

A calm and composed
mind rules supreme
Freedom
is the very nature of a man. However, seldom does a man have the
courage to exercise his freedom to challenge the settled belief
driven norms. The one who does is termed a rebel, no matter how much
mistaken premise over which the belief stands. For, he creates a
stir by knocking the group ego of majority. However, but for some
such isolated incidents, the society shall not be forced into a
churning process necessary for periodic correction of societal
norms. But, once the society reconciles to the changing dynamics,
the same rebel qualifies to be called a torch bearer.
In India, even today, no inter-religion/caste
marriage takes place without unsettling family peace and calling for
street gossip. The question here is who has created such religious
or caste divide, which binds one into a trap of false identity? And,
does a man or for that matter a group has an identity independent of
the totality? God does not seem to follow any religion or create any
divide. Otherwise, the divine design would not have provided for
only one Sun available in equal proportion to all of us,
transgressing all man made divides.
Only the one, who’s
higher mind rules supreme can have the courage to pursue an ideal
different from common view, and lay down own independent path. Those
are the minds armed with inventive and innovative abilities, who could
undertake pioneering works for the benefit of larger masses, provided
he remains unruffled from unhealthy and uncalled for criticism of the
majority. It is however easier said than done. Experience suggests
that it is difficult to digest negative criticism. It rather
inadvertently casts its shadow on one’s mindset, which eventually
tells upon his overall conduct.
A case in point is that of a gentleman born with
element of rebellion in him but driven by higher intellect. The man’s
lagna sub-lord is Mercury, identified with intelligence, and is
conjunct the Sun. Both occupy the constellation of fiery Mars, which
is beneficially placed to higher intellect signifying Uranus. That
qualifies him for an idealistic bent of mind suited for pioneering
work. However, the fact that both the Sun and Mercury are placed
adverse to Uranus, they simultaneously breed in him the sense of rebel
and unconventionality.
The man’s
5th sub-lord Saturn, being responsible for his love life, is placed in
the constellation of Mercury, which though beneficially placed to Rahu
but adverse to Uranus. That led him into inter-religious relationship.
The fact that ethical Jupiter is placed in the 5th house, he stood by
his love. He had the guts to marry his love-mate, defying the elder’s
whip of restricting the girl’s freedom to pursue her faith by birth.
The ruckus that followed brought in hurt feeling, which inadvertently
made a negative imprint on his mind. The negative implant thus
overtaking his drive, often makes him act a rebel even where it is not
warranted, adversely affecting his interpersonal relationship skills.
As a result, he has not been able to settle down well in life so far.
Now, seeing all unbecoming people enjoying a comfortable life, he is
now looking for reasons for his material discomfort. He has obviously
reasons to be concerned about his obligations towards his child and
the family.
The man has to just fine
tune his mind again by unburdening the negative baggage of his recent
past, which has otherwise shaded his vision, discriminate
intelligence, and also affected his will adversely. And, his positive
true-self will unfold to his full advantage once again. I wish to
assure him that in terms of time frame, the period of internal
churning is over, which has in the process made him wiser to
intelligently pursue his pioneering spirit. He better regain his
faith, and the efforts of his positive-self shall begin to bear fruits
soon.

Only well
groomed good human beings can make the nation great
It was really amusing to
learn that government is contemplating for handing over the reins of
educational institutions to IIM graduates. What a wonderful elitist
idea of glamorizing institutions of learning on business model? Can
we really make such wishful packaging of education come true in a huge
country like ours, where, even today a large number of schools are
still deprived of the essentials? Only a day-dreamer can afford to
self-pat by trying to make a fashion statement out of a few such high
flying schools.
The question here is can
a few well trained managers raised in such elitist schools prove being
instruments of change and lead the nation to glory? Experience
suggests otherwise. We already have an organized bureaucracy manned
by qualified and well trained people. Yet, funds meant to feed hungry
people are being siphoned off to fatten the coffers of a few. The
farmers are committing suicide because they cannot meet their basics
out of peanuts they get for their hard labour. But marketers can
afford to laugh by making the same farm produce unaffordable to
people. What a wonderful governance we are experiencing at the hands
of those flashing high flying literal education?
The policy makers need to
know that only good human beings can prove to be instrument of
change. Here, a reference to Swami Vivekanand’s words on education
becomes imperative: “We want that education by which character is
formed; strength of mind is increased; intelligence is expanded; and
by which one can stand on one’s own feet”. Remember, only the
expanded vision of those groomed on the above lines shall be able to
understand and appreciate that the world is an integrated and
inter-dependant unitary whole. They will know that individual
happiness is better secured only in collective well being. Also, that
only a few highly educated but misguided people can negate the efforts
put in by majority. And, he will have the will and resolve to stand
true to the above task.
In recent times we have
already witnessed how technically qualified people aided terrorist
groups in wanton killing of innocent people. On similar lines is the
case of some self-proclaimed God-men exposed recently for all their
demeaning acts. Apparently, they have been able to attract a huge
following on the strength of their scholarly sermons. But, by
themselves they stand out as perverts. Why, is the obvious question?
The reason lies in one’s
mind. Therefore, a look into the organization of mind becomes
imperative. Remember, there is more to a man than his visible-self.
In fact, the prime drive of a man is propelled by his inner-self,
where rests one’s mind, intelligence and memory. These empowerment
tools do not work simply on the inputs fed by external sources. They
are primarily driven by the in store memory implants from the past,
which account for conditioning our minds with the trinity of bondage -
latent desires both good as well as bad, greed, and ignorance. They
will find reflection unless corrected, no matter whatever is the
outward training.
The truth is that we seem
to be bent upon raising money making human machine to secure
individual economic comfort. In the process, we do not care to
explore the inlaid talents and positive urges in a child. Instead, we
guide them to disciplines they may not enjoy. And, we care the least
to work upon ill-framed inherent tendencies. The result is there for
all to see.
It is therefore incumbent upon us to
work upon our innate tendencies as much as the need to raise our
academic standards. Accordingly, it is time now that instead of just
packaging, we remodel the very concept of education, which is driven
towards holistic development of our future generation. That alone can
make the nation great.
